Tawnya Pell grew up in beautiful Sonoma County, California, where there is no shortage of roadside fruit stands and her childhood memories are of driving to the ocean and stopping to buy peaches and cherries from local farmers. Tawnya spent the first 12 years of her career in sales, marketing, and inventory management in the diagnostic ultrasound industry. In 2002, her love for her children, family, community, and environment compelled her to begin searching for ways to live a more sustainable life, and she and her family moved from high-speed Silicon Valley, California to rural Vermont, in search of a slower pace in which to foster the lifestyle that was calling out to them. She was introduced to cooking and gardening by her father, and began cultivating her love for both after the move East, supporting local CSA farms, Pick-Your-Own farms and growing food of her own as a way to help her kids connect with the food they were eating. When Tawnya discovered Mom-a-licious, she was so inspired by the cookbook and Domenica’s accessible approach that she instantly became a natural promoter of all things Mom-a-licious. Tawnya’s high energy, infectious personality, and constant positive problem solving skills are what make her so important to the mom-a-licious team. She is an avid runner, dedicated cooking club member, and is fascinated by the women’s blogging phenomenon. Her most recent course taken was Hip-Hop, much to her daughters’ dismay. Tawnya resides in beautiful Shelburne, Vermont, with her husband and three daughters. They are currently growing Swiss Chard, Tomatoes, Herbs, and Peppers in their garden.
