Super CerealThis cereal is super because it is packed with so many nutrients including fiber, protein, and amino acids. The addition of quinoa to breakfast provides all 8 essential amino acids as well as a good amount of protein. Flaxseed provides Omega-3's. Make extra and reheat during the week. My friend Steven puts this on the stove in the morning and then showers, shaves and gets his daughters' lunches packed while this super cereal is cooking. When he is finished he has a delicious and healthy breakfast ready for the family.Serves 4 Ingredients: 1 ½ cup organic rolled oats (if using quick oats see note at bottom) ½ cup organic quinoa, rinsed 4 cups water (or you can do ½ water and ½ milk or soy milk) 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed Pinch of salt ½ teaspoon cinnamon *Dried fruit and honey (*optional) Process:
*If using quick oats start with the quinoa and liquid. Add the oats after the quinoa has cooked for 10 minutes and cook for 5 more minutes. |
